A Foundation for Freedom
Freedom Christian Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Lexington, Kentucky. We support young adults aging out of the foster care system by providing resources, financial assistance, and mentorship as they transition to independent living. Our goal is to help each young person build a stable future and pursue the life God has planned for them.
Our Initiatives
Room to Dream:
Everyone deserves a place to call home. When youth age out of foster care, the state helps them secure an apartment and provides a few basic household essentials. While these resources meet immediate needs, they often leave young adults with an empty space that doesn't feel like home. Through Room to Dream, we provide funding and support to furnish and decorate their homes, transforming it from a place to live into a place they can truly call their own.
Mentorship:
No one should navigate life alone. We connect every young adult we serve with the opportunity to be matched with a mentor through Orphan Care Alliance's Life Coach program. These caring adults walk alongside youth with foster care experience, offering encouragement, practical guidance, and Christ-centered support.
Rose recently aged out of the foster care system and is attending college in Louisville this fall. When we met Rose, she had nothing to furnish her dorm room, but thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, we were able to "shop" our storage and get her set up with everything she needs to make her new space feel like home. Now she has a place where she can invite new friends over, study with confidence, and embrace all the opportunities this exciting season will bring.
Our hope is that every young adult we serve has more than just a place to live, but also a place where they can build community and pursue their dreams.
